Student Advisory Board Elections

On November 5, 2024 students at Devers Elementary School cast their to elect their Student Advisory Board. 

In the weeks leading up to the election, candidates for the Student Advisory Board created campaign posters and videos. On election day, students lined the hallways to cast their vote! Students in third through fifth grade verified their voter registration by confirming their name and address before completing their ballot. 

Students shared their excitement for participating in the campaign and election process with Mrs. Carrizales:

"I like voting for someone because it's like having a super secret that you can't tell anyone. I liked watching the videos because you can hear what their personality is." ~5th Grade Student

"I liked getting to vote because Ms. Franklin made it look like a real election. I liked watching the videos because the backgrounds were cool and the speeches were wonderful." ~ 5th Grade Student
